Monroe County’s 2025 election underscored just how much every vote matters. After recounts in three razor-thin races, the county certified results that ultimately flipped two seats to Democrats—including my own race, decided by a mere 24-vote margin. The outcome reflects both the intensity of local civic engagement and the profound impact of close, community-driven elections.

Our first food drive was an incredible success, and it made one thing clear: when our community comes together, we can make a real difference. At the same time, it reminded us that the need is ongoing and greater than any single effort. Staying true to my campaign promise, in the new year I will be partnering with nonprofits, grassroots advocates, and local businesses to turn this momentum into a sustained, community-wide initiative. Together, we can build a stronger, more caring Chili—one where support doesn’t end after one event, but continues year-round.
